Happy New Year, my precious egglet! I hope 2021 does you better than 2020 did.
Unlike most things in my life, I tend to fly by the seat of my pants with this blog. It is updated irregularly with whatever information I feel warrants extra typing. And today’s event most definitely warrants extra typing, because my royal, fake engagement romance The Princess Trap officially has a brand new look!
This gorgeous cover was designed by the incredible Erin O’Neill Jones, whom I have admired creepily from afar for quite some time. I finally plucked up the courage to commission a cover by her, and it is just… perfect. Perfect, in my eyes. Perfect, for this sharp, sarcastic, sexy romance. Perfect for cynical, fish-out-of-water Cherry and chaotic, just-trying-his-best Ruben. I can’t explain how deeply I adore this cover design, but I will confess to kissing my physical copies one or twenty times since they arrived.
ALSO relevant: this book was previously part of my Dirty British Romance series. But that series wasn’t really a series; it was just two books that I called a series. So! It’s no longer a series. Et voila. This book stands alone. (However, it does exist within the wider interconnected world of my brain, so you’ll see references to it in other books. If you’re interested in that sort of thing, you can check out my official reading order.)
If you’ve read this story before (it was originally released February 2018!) I hope you love Cherry and Ruben’s new look! I also hope you’re aware of their bonus epilogue, which is available free to everyone who signs up to my VIP List.
And if you haven’t read this story before… here’s a little more info.
Cherry Neita is thirty, flirty, and done with men. As far as she can tell, they’re overrated, overpaid, and underperforming – in every area of life. But a girl has needs, and the smoking-hot stranger she just met at the office seems like the perfect one-night stand…
Prince Ruben of Helgmøre is reckless, dominant, and famously filthy. The outcast royal is rebuilding his reputation – all for a good cause – but he can’t resist a pretty face. And bossy whirlwind Cherry’s got the face, the body, and the attitude to make Ruben’s convictions crumble. Even better, when she propositions him, she has no idea who he really is.
But when paparazzi catch the pair, erm, kissing in an alleyway, Ruben’s anonymity disappears faster than Cherry’s knickers. Now the press is in uproar, the palace is outraged, and Ruben’s reputation is back in the gutter. There’s only one way to turn this disaster around – and it involves Cherry, some big fat lies, and a flashy diamond ring. On her left hand.
Unfortunately, Cherry isn’t pleased with Ruben’s ‘fake engagement’ scheme… and neither is the king.
The Princess Trap is a steamy, diverse royal romance featuring a take-no-sh*t heroine and a misunderstood hero fighting to survive life at the palace. There’s fake relationship fluff, a healthy dose of angst, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. Please be aware: this story contains scenes of abuse that could trigger certain audiences.
